Guidance for Connecting Danbooru to my site Subdomain?

Posted under General

My goal is to clone the -booru image board and use it for my own website's (http://bleachkrownedkueens.com/) subdomain gallery (http://gallery.bleachkrownedkueens.com).

I therefore went on to install Danbooru's source code (https://github.com/danbooru/danbooru/tree/master) and followed the instructions as listed. I am hosting my website through Namecheap and the subdomain through Digital Ocean's droplet service. In my case, it needs Docker and root access, which prompted me to use Digital Ocean's droplet (which functions as a VPS/Dedicated Server) where I can manage it more easily.

I am able to access it through my localhost with ease, and it functions exactly as intended. The problem is how it doesn't load on the live site--prompting me to use a reverse proxy like nginx to run it since the 443 port isn't opening regardless of what I try.

I also tried sharing my issue in the technical channel on the Danbooru Discord, but no one there has been helpful. Is there anyone who has any guidance as to how I could get this to work through a reverse proxy? I would even be willing to pay you for your time if you helped me more directly (e.g., zoom, TeamViewer). I'm certain the issue is fairly simple, but I'm honestly at a loss for what I could do at this point and need help from those at the site itself.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation!
