How to tag copyright for reoccurring characters?

How to tag copyright for reoccurring characters? I know this has been discussed before, but I don't know if we've come to any standardized policy? Specifically I'm asking for Sakagami Ayumi, En'en and Gureru. Basically, Ayumi debuted in the movie 1, En'en and Gureru debuted in movie 2, but they never met until movie 3. If we go by the rule of "first appearance installment" + "depicted installment" policy. This makes every image showing the three of them together have at least 5 copyrights: movie 1, 2, 3, the umbrella tag of the movies, and the umbrella tag of the series. I know that we drop the "first appearance copyright" once a character has been around for several installments, but what about characters like these where the majority of their screen time/recognition is from the original installment? Is this practice completely abandoned for all characters? I don't think that's the case. Though, come to think of it, it's not a bad idea.

tldr: What should be the copytag(s) of a post showing A and B interacting?
Knowing that A debuted in/is the central character of movie 1, B debuted in/is the central character of movie 2, and A and B only met until movie 3.

We don't have a "first appearance" rule, people are just dumb and tag every copyright characters appear in. You tag the specific copyright the picture references if a character present is from multiple entries. If the characters all appear in one entry, and nothing in the image specifically references the entries they don't appear together in, then that's the only copyright you tag. If the characters are wearing outfits that only appear in specific entries (think dante (devil may cry) and how he looks different in every game), then you tag every copyright that's specifically being referenced.
