Cardcaptor Sakura costumes + misc. BUR

BUR #27827 has been rejected.

I worked on expanding the costume chartags seen throughout Cardcaptor Sakura. They don't have official names like other series and gacha games do, so I used the fan names seen on the Cardcaptor Sakura wikipedia. I outlined this in the list of Cardcaptor Sakura characters. I will be make more costume chartags, especially for Li Syaoran since he's a prominent deuteragonist and has several costumes of his own.

I underwent this tagging because I wanted to upload some clean scans of official art from Minitokyo, but it would've been next to impossible to find specific costumes without the chartags for filtering purposes.

Also implying Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Arc to the primary copyright tag since it's a sequel. For the two renames, they're just adding copyright qualifiers, especially for Kerberos since there are other characters named Kerberos.

Where did you get the costume names from, are these official?

Yes, I know they’re not truly ‘official’ names, but rather names attributed by fans. I could have gone the direction of using episode numbers or manga chapters since they’re the official sources, but I can’t imagine the amount of confusion that would cause for those not familiar with the series.

I support these having tags, my only concern is the names if unofficial. I suppose the wiki isn't a super bad source for those since they are descriptive and are used by fans. I don't think episode or chapter names would be better, though, since that would likely be more confusing.

I know the names are unofficial, and unofficial names are not popular on Danbooru. I get it. I really do. It certainly was a bone of contention while making the tags. However, the costumes were designed in an era well before we had things like gacha games and DLC using the practice of naming costumes for selling purposes, yet certain CCS outfits have become part of the anime cultural zeitgeist without ever retroactively gaining any official names. I think they deserve chartags for easier searching, but the lack of any official sources sorting outfits by names made it very difficult for me to use anything but fan names from the CCS wiki.

There always is the option of using opening and ending credit songs, episode numbers, and manga chapters to identify them, since those would be the true official sources, but then you run into the problem of how vague it would be for non-CCS fans to keep track of things. Hell, given enough time passing, even I would get confused about which is which even after doing all of the research.

I don't see how these would be confusing or vague, relatively speaking, especially since it wouldn't be the first or last time such an approach had been used (Pokemon for instance uses an episode qualifier for one-off anime characters, for instance, ex. Liza (Pokemon EP134)). The only way they'd be either is if multiple tagged costumes appeared in a chapter/episode.

Regardless, we could at least have these "as-close-to-official-as-possible" names as utility aliases, so that we're at least following practice, but going with the most accessible names in the eyes of CCS taggers.

I’m still not a fan of using episode numbers, but if it’s the consensus that’ll follow the rules best, I can cancel this request and adapt it into a new BUR following these rules instead. I would like some more feedback before committing to writing a new BUR.

Drafted a rough BUR to replace the current one. I would like to see what others think, if it needs any kind of changes or improvements, or if this is totally unnecessary. For reference, see the CCS wiki to confirm what the costumes are and which episodes they're worn in. If I don't hear anything, I'll cancel the current BUR and replace it with this one.

I almost feel like I'm opening an undesirable can of worms with attributing episode numbers to costumes, if this sort of thing can be applied to other series. But I digress. Let's just focus on CCS for now.

Canceled the previous BUR and updated it with this one. The costume chartags aliases are sorted by episode or movie. The majority are for Sakura, but there are a couple for Tomoyo as well. Note that eps 6 and 30 have two costumes each, so I differentiated them by color. Episodes 45 & 46, and 68 & 69 similarly share the same single costume.

Didn't we say that costume tags were only going to be for gacha and vtubers? What happens if people start creating alternate costume tags for every random anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion or Azumanga Daioh or Pokemon (Anime)? Do we really want a million Ash Ketchum (S4E12) tags? What happens if someone creates souryuu_asuka_langley_(plugsuit)? That's what we're inviting by doing this.

I'm not necessarily strongly against it, but I want you to truly understand the consequences of opening the floodgates, and I think this needs a larger discussion.

I only agree with the first implication, "kerberos", and "suppi" BUR. The rest of them, I'm leaning towards meh or no opinion.

This isn't entirely true, though it's still mostly contained to video games, we also have outfit chartags for Overwatch and Apex Legends (though I suppose loot box skins are gacha-esque enough), Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy VII...

I think when a copyright has a lot of distinct outfits, it's logical to want a way to search for them. I'm not sure it "opens the floodgates", if a character only has a couple outfits or the outfits aren't notable, then the tags aren't warranted. That's just how I see things, though.

I still think unofficial but descriptive names are better than vague episode number qualifiers.
