From my previous post:
...using creature_focus rather than animal_focus for Pokémon might have had a leg to stand on if we didn't already have a mountain of evidence that our users simply don't use creature for them. After all, why bother with creature when we already have pokemon_(creature)?
...imagine someone who just wants to see posts of birds. We'd be in the insane position where (by design), when searching for animal_focus bird, you won't find post #7696152. Same goes for animal_focus fish and post #2537158, or animal_focus cat and post #7279239. Therefore, if it isn't human-like (Gardevoir, Machoke, Zeraora etc.) and it's not a living object (Magnemite, Chandelure, Stonjourner etc.) then it should count for animal_focus. This logic should not be exclusively applied to Pokémon; any fictional animal that fits in this category should also be tagged as such.
Also, approving this BUR and having monster_focus aliased to creature_focus encourages the tag to feature stuff like post #7619319 and post #7386311 side by side. This is directly at odds with the creature wiki, which states that it's for "any fictional animal that isn't monstrous".
BUR #27341 was the only positively received BUR in this thread, being almost universally upvoted. It should be approved.

That would merge all of those tags under animal focus, so it would have the same effect you said but with animals thrown into the mix. If we don't want an umbrella for godzilla and clefairy why would we then make a tag for godzilla, clefairy and some random cat?

Oh yeah, it does do that. For some reason I thought it just reverted the edits that user made, which is all that really needs doing.
