The message theoretically already includes a link, but it's broken. At least when I view mine, it has the raw HTML code instead of an actual link. That's possibly the only thing that needs to be fixed.

My most recent was 18 days ago, and no link is included. Just "[User] created a [positive/negative] record for your account."
Same when I make one for someone else.
How about a guide on making POSITIVE records....It seems + records don't seem to exist on Danbooru.
So is the whole point of records to show how bad a person is? How hated they are?
How disliked their posts are?
Even the greatest admins/moderators seem to have only a few positive score....
While I'm sure they appreciate the positive reps, admins/mods don't really need them. Really, positive records are only meaningful for regular members, as a sign that they did something especially good which should be taken into account if someone is thinking of inviting them.

Sort of, although the "hate" really needs an objective, danbooru rules-and-norms basis. People shouldn't get negged for frivolous reasons.
As kumarei said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with giving an admin/mod a positive record, but it has the most impact with regular members who otherwise can have trouble standing out.

I rarely give records of either type, but I wouldn't be surprised if I've given out more positive than negative.
Positive records are generally given to those below "contributor" rank to document instances where they have gone above and beyond and should be merited, but haven't yet reached the guidelines for promotion. That way a record of their previous good work is available when the eventual consideration for promotion is made. That's how I use them at least.
Positive records could also be useful for users hoping to negate previous bad records, though having a ton of bad records will probably still weigh negatively even if balanced by good ones in the case of promotions.

giving positive records because someone knows how to upload the popular images from pixiv is meaningless. One site with near infinite categories of art does not take much effort to browse around, let alone be merited for.

There's nothing wrong with giving positives if you like someone's uploads. It's more important for users who aren't already contributors, however.
To me a positive record is half a promotion. People who post some insightful and useful comments, people who upload a bunch of good pictures (but not quite enough or not consistently enough), they get a positive record so that if I come across them again in a positive way, I can add up the points, more or less.
Also, it means I'm not giving someone a positive record if I'm already promoting them. There's no point.
I don't think leaving records should be allowed for anyone below a janitor level, because people like Granola are petty hypocrites who leave records over a perfectly fine image just because he hates a tag (diaper).
That shit is what voting an image down is for.
It's particularly ironic, because he's posted much worse, and more of them:

I don't think the diaper was the problem, it's more the fact that it was horribly shopped and stupidly artifacted. Also, the "But there's something worse!" argument isn't very well liked around here. Careful with it.
That's not whining, and you don't even know why he blocked me. I was being annoying on IRC and highlighting him for stupid shit. I also notice Hazuki blocked you for being a jerk.
The fact it's a shop and artifacted is a valid point, if a bit nitpicky. I only upload stuff that I think is amazing and should be seen (even if it's a niche likely to get rated down), and was rather offended by that hypocritical -.
Starting to get tired of all the elitism and bad attitudes here.

While I do think negs are sometimes made too lightly, and accordingly give them less weight when deciding if I need to issue bans, that was a really, really bad upload and I'm a bit troubled a contributor would think an image with a photoshopped diaper full of piss is appropriate. If that's by the original artist (I see no source though) then it's less obviously a problem but I still would not approve it in the queue. So I can't call this an abuse of the reporting system. Even if it's retaliatory for events happening outside the site (bad), the actual content of the neg is legitimate I feel.
Yes, people have posted worse. Much worse. Like some of the ones you linked. I wish they wouldn't. But that's not what determines whether what you post is appropriate or not.

Dalamar, you got rated down. It doesn't affect your ability to post, and neither does it hurt the likelihood of your being promoted to Contributor, since you already are one. The negative rating has no consequences for you, other than saying that Granola disapproved of one of your posts. Get over it.
Contributors should be held to much different standards than normal members. That's the reason I negged you.
Me liking/disliking a tag has nothing to do with what I did, and I try to be objective. Sorry you feel that its elitism, but I felt that the post was unacceptable.
By the way, trying to say that "albert has posted much worse" or "granola has posted much worse" is kind of shady. Not to mention untrue when it comes to this post.
