There are also a lot of posts under high-cut armor (persona) that probably shouldn't also be tagged armor.
Reactive armor is also very different visually and how it operates from regular armor that it shouldn't implicate the armor tag.
Meat armor appears to be nothing more than an 18+ version of human shield and shouldn't implicate the armor tag.
edit: The armor tag is honestly a mess, and appears to be used for pretty much anything at this point. It also appears to be used as a padding tag for mecha posts, with over 3k armor mecha posts and over 1/3rd of them also tagged no humans (ex: post #7058437).
Those would've been tagged visor in the past, but the tag was deprecated in topic #22086. It is now split into four tags, including visor (armor). Some of the discrepancies may be due to mistags.
I also noticed that helm also does not implicate armor, which seems to indicate we're treating armor as body armor and helms and other helmets as a separate category (side note: there doesn't seem to be any tag specifically for non-helm medieval helmets).

Tagging the color of a robot/mecha sounds pretty useful to me, at least if they're mainly one or two colors. That might be why some users are using colored armor tags for them. If we create new tags for colored robots/mechas, it might reduce tag pollution for armor.

Why not just remove the armor tag from mechs as well, it's a part of them and not something they're wearing? I suppose if the mech outs on armor it counts.

Also thank you for pointing out meat armor, I legit thought it was for doing the armor equivalent of that lady gaga dress. Removed it from the BUR.

If we create colored robot/mech tags and encourage users to tag robots/mechs with the new tags instead of colored armor tags like they're doing now, it logically follows that there would be fewer robot/mech posts mistagged with armor, which is why I said tag pollution for armor would be reduced.
Also, to be clear, I'm referring to robots that are non-humanoid and/or unambiguously mechanical such as in post #7193795. Power armor can still be used for androids if it's not clear it's a part of their body, so it would make sense to still use colored armor tags for them.
A lot of these tags are almost padding, and they don't imply their subtags. leg armor doesn't imply greaves nor faulds, chest armor doesn't imply breastplate (should it?), etc. Most of these deserve their own individual topics to figure out what we need to do with them.
At the moment this BUR is too messy to be approvable.
