Honkai Impact/Gakuen requests

As there have been no new outfits for Rozaliya or Delta for a while, and due to Delta's only two costume tags looking substantially different from each other, it's safe to let some costume tags do double duty; that is, post #8028561 would still be tagged as Rozaliya Olenyeva (Fervent Tempo) because the head area matches, and post #7068473 would receive Rozaliya Olenyeva (8-bit Fever).

This is exactly why I disagree with a general flattening of implications without minding individual cases. I would say this is a perfect example of what warrants an intermediate tag, because you can immediately identify the subcharacter among other random skins due to shared traits (the hair streaks, different color palette and the power button motif). Even I, with no knowledge of the character, am able to tell the "original" version and Delta apart without much issue here. You then end up with cases like these where artists (who don't care about binary constraints) just draw the generic subcharacter without specifying either costume, and we end up having to play detective of what goes where.

I've been ping-ponging a bit between a couple of ways of trying to organise this and trying to figure out in my own head what makes sense and some of the tagging desires by both you and evazion, which are considerably different when it comes down to things and what reasoning is enough to get accepted. I haven't committed all the changes I'd like to yet since I've been taking a step back and reevaluating if it really makes sense to flatten it all or if we can have intermediate subtags, so it's just small ones for now before I figure out the characters with an absurd amount of tags (Kiana Kaslana has about 30 subtags).

When it comes to Honkai Impact 3rd, there are quite literally some cases where I can't abide and decided not to go through with flattening it all because three layers just makes it infinitely more helpful to search - the head area is usually the most dead giveaway for differentiating characters and their variants.

I can see evazion's point for some, but I lean more towards agreeing with your view here when it comes to the more major characters with lots more variants. With actually getting down to editing wikis and writing implications on paper, it starts becoming a bit more clear how nonsense some of these can get and scrapped a few drafts over it.

BUR #39263 is pending approval.

remove implication fu_hua_(herrscher_of_sentience) -> fu_hua
create alias fu_hua_(herrscher_of_sentience) -> herrscher_of_sentience
rename fu_hua_(ooh!_summer!)_(herrscher_of_sentience) -> herrscher_of_sentience_(ooh!_summer!)
rename fu_hua_(turn_up_the_music!)_(herrscher_of_sentience) -> herrscher_of_sentience_(turn_up_the_music!)
rename fu_hua_(onyx_simurgh)_(herrscher_of_sentience) -> herrscher_of_sentience_(onyx_simurgh)
mass update favgroup:40650 -> -fu_hua

Let's resume here. Herrscher of Sentience is a distinct character in Honkai Impact 3rd so I'd like to get them separated. It would massively help with searchability, especially since she is very commonly depicted alone or interacting with Fu Hua including in official art. This is basically a repeat scenario of forum #283745 with Ai-chan (Honkai Impact) and Ai Hyperion Lambda.

The implications are based off of early content that haven't been relevant for years. Herrscher of Sentience started as a dark persona but is now a distinct character, though artists have always depicted them distinctly or in other ways (e.g. split theme).

The favgroup should take care of most of the needed gardening, the rest has to be done manually which would be easier to do with the split.

What's wrong with them? I can't give a proper answer if you leave it open-ended like that.

As of right now, the main thing for all Honkai Impact 3rd characters is that a lot of their costumes are left untagged and don't have either alternate costume or official alternate costume applied but that doesn't really affect pursuing any implications.

Regarding default appearances being chartags: I've only pursued this for Part 2 characters and that was mainly because I was putting evazion's opinion that the chartags should refer to just the battlesuit but I realised that the chartag confusion problem only really exists for characters who have alternate universe or aged up versions.

Pardofelis (Reverist Calico) is already Pardofelis' default appearance (pardofelis -(official_alternate_costume or alternate_costume or nude)) so it's kind of redundant - I upvoted it for now but wouldn't mind aliasing it away. Also, with Part 2 giving some Part 1 characters new outfits, it just adds more uncertainty to if one single appearance could be considered a default or not, so having default appearances as chartags sidesteps this uncertainty for some of them. I've been taking them a character at a time because there's no sweeping opinion you can apply to them.

The second half of your BUR is backwards. I also don't see the need to change the implications when there is literally only one battlesuit for her. It makes the tag for her default useless to actually search for it.

Fixed several Pardo tags

This is what I meant by my post; Pardofelis only has a single playable battlesuit, Pardofelis (Reverist Calico). Doing this just makes her base tag equal to her battlesuit tag which is pointless. Layers are only needed for more complex characters with more outfits; characters like Pardofelis can just have her outfits implied to her base chartag. I thought by "fix" you meant there was a real issue with her current chartags not that you were going to homogenise the tagging when every character will have different requirements.

If we want to have her default appearance as a character tag, yes. I'm fine with us doing that though I don't think there are many posts where, if not wearing a tagged alternate costume, she's not wearing her default, so even here it's pretty equal to a search for the character herself, only that it would explicitly show only her base outfit and nothing else.

Though that might be a good direction to maintain.
