rename hiking_sandals -> sports_sandals
create implication sports_sandals -> sandals

now that i thought about it, i think sports_sandals would be a better catch-all term than hiking_sandals in general. the latter feels more limited in the sense that it only applies to sandals that are explicitly meant for hiking/hiking-styled, meanwhile the former can extend to styles that have a more rugged appearance but aren't meant for hiking.

in general, any sandal that have a rugged or sturdy appearance (example 1, example 2, example 3, example 4, example 5) can automatically count as sports sandals. in addition, sandals that are or resemble tevas (example 1, example 2, example 3, example 4) are also counted.

to determine if a sandals is a sports sandals, the best and quickest way is to look at the sole and straps. the sole is usually bulkier and has a rugged appearance, and the straps are usually wide and/or thick to secure the foot in place. (i.e., just think of tevas or chacos. alternatively, think of the sandals artoria caster and saki from blue archive wears in their respective swimsuit outfit.)

I don't think the distinction between this and other (male/practical) sandals is notable, so I think the tag should just be nuked. To me, this is generally what default sandals look like. But if kept, sports sandals is definitely the most common term, and "sports sandals" also more common than "sport sandals".
