This should probably be reversed. We have both bad link and bad source and even I can't always keep them straight.

Let's try this again, bad link is a pretty unintuitive name for this.
I personally think there may be a problem with grouping "legitimate" direct image URLs (where there's no better source link available) and direct URLs for supported sites like Twitter, but this BUR wouldn't change any of that and instead just make the name better fit the current definition. Personally, I'd find it potentially useful to have a search tag for (un)supported sites, say something like source:unsupported, it would be useful in general but it would also help gardening a tag like this. (This was apparently specifically mentioned as an exception in https://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki_page_versions/diff?thispage=414683&type=previous but it was removed)

Yeah, between February 2020 and March 2022, the wiki for the tag used to explicitly have an exception which stated that it wasn't for sources that "can only be accessed as a direct image link, via a blog/gallery link, as an example". There's a ton of sources like this on Danbooru, especially among older posts, and given bad link's intended use for correcting the source so it points to the original source page, tossing in a ton of posts with sources like that would dilute the use of the tag. It'd be like including tons of low quality status:deleted low-tagged art in tagme permanently.
As much as the tag's current name sucks, and the exception itself is a bit awkward, it at least makes the tag more than just a dumping ground for posts that are just direct image links either way.

The problem is that most of pixiv:any is direct image links. bad link is for unnormalizable direct image links.
