Do we really need a specific tag for sitting + spread legs + male focus? The only image I saw that features what is typically defined as manspreading is post #6527669
The tag however is mostly filled with art such as post #6475329 and post #6525954

In order to fit the term's full meaning there would have to be a public venue with multiple seats like post #6527669. Slapping it on 1boy solo sitting in a chair minding his own business seems quite sexist. Not to mention its ridiculous history we might want to stay away from.

Could a bara enthusiast sound off on this? It looks like the term has been sort of appropriated as a fetish thing.

It has always been a fetish tag.

I just added a couple of posts similar to the one you said was appropriate.

Instead of asking for a nuke why couldn't you create a wiki, fix the tagging (it's just 100 ish posts) and see how that works out first? I admit it's my fault for taking the name literally, I didn't remember that it was for a specific concept.. I think the tag has merit even if I'm not really into it (that's probably why I didn't know the exact usage). But even then you could have simply just DM'd me.

If we define it properly it'll equal like a 4-5 tag search, so I think that's enough reason for a tag for exist.

Taking up public space has been also suggested on the discord. I don't mind that's as an alias if it helps explain it better.

Wrong. I specifically created it for post #5080221, the actual meaning of manspreading as wikipedia defines it. After that it's been coopted by uploaders who have never seen nor googled the term before.

Something like post #6554367 or post #6549837 or post #5316164, for example, is not "manspreading" by any definition of the word. There's no public seating, no inconvenience, the characters are alone. I'll clean the tag up.

The bulk update request #18578 (forum #248747) has been rejected by @nonamethanks.

You can't tell me it isn't someone's fetish to see stuff like that. There wouldn't be art depicting it otherwise.
For what it's worth I did add it to posts to similar posts like post #6393482 but I haven't gardened the others yet. Waiting for this BUR to resolve until I do that.

Up to you to keep it or not, I don't really care that much.

Everything's a fetish to someone. The point is that most of the posts under this tag weren't about manspreading, they were just people sitting in a chair with their legs spread, and the concept itself is not a fetish.

I would barely consider your post to count, because there's no sign that the character is inconveniencing someone or doing it on purpose.

I googled the term when this topic was opened and did not see anything about having to "inconvenience" someone. It's easy to understand it as just a specific sitting position in a public place and I would say that solo (but pov)) posts like post #4860062 and post #4647358 should apply.

Mentioning public space examples in the wiki would be helpful too. Do benches count? Street benches or ones in like a locker room? Saunas? Etc

It's the same case for post #6060359. I'm not the only one who added it to such posts. Same sitting position and in a train. Can't really call it much else.

I think only public transport counts as manspreading. So those two examples should apply.

Ah sorry, I thought there was a specific fetish about manspreading. In that case I think anything above Sensitive doesn't apply to the tag since it's not a sexual thing.

I've definitely seen a lot of people take pictures of guys sitting like this before, but didn't know it had a specific name.

Okay, that just leaves the part about needing other people to be there or not.

There's multiple posts that had characters in the sauna or locker rooms doing a very similar thing, but the tag was just removed from them.
Stuff like post #4745318 and post #3433168.

The concept looks similar to me. Confident guy spreading his legs in a public/semi public place.
If these really don't apply it should be explained in the wiki (and maybe even use these posts as examples) so less people make this same mistake.
