Should we made full name alias of the Blue Archive characters?

I play game (JP server) and by fact people will likely not know their full name unless they check their profile which is not placed anywhere else. To a point that I think it is not important to at least save for biography or so.

I play global and pretty much everyone I know who also play know the full names.

My question is, will this impact being able to sort BA characters via their popularity? I can find out who the most popular Arknights, Azur Lane or KanColle girls are by putting the term between asterisks on the tags search page, but not for Idolmaster girls since they use their full name. Fate seems to mostly work, except with characters like Shirou Emiya or Rin Tohsaka. If it's just a redirect I think it should be fine, as long as new girls get it as well.

Nothing will change, it's just an additional way to search for the characters.

For characters that don't have copyright qualifiers, you can use the related tags page to find the ones with the most posts

I'm a BA player on jp server. My opinion is i don't care much about having their fullname included or not. As i don't read moon runes, by knowing their name is enough for me to know them. Unless you're a nerd who loves a specific character you'll remember their fullname. But like i said, this is my opinion as a jp player. Don't care about the matter but if you add in their fullname, i think it'll be fine anyway.

As a global BA player I think only really popular characters' full names are remembered. I doubt anyone would get who I'd be talking about if I said "Kazekura" instead of "Moe", but there'd be a good chance that they'd know who I was talking about if I said "Rikuhachima" instead of "Aru" or "Ajitani" instead of "Hifumi". I doubt most people have memorized more than a handful of last names.

In my experience everyone uses their first name when referring to characters. In-game the characters are almost always referred to with only their first name (like in dialogue boxes etc.) as well, excluding their profile. I wouldn't change the tags themselves to full names at least.

I don't know if there's any downside to adding character aliases though? It's not like having more options to find characters is a bad thing, is it?

Well the way it is now is easier for people who have no idea who those characters are to look them up since their full names are not exactly the most prevalent but adding the full name as aliases doesn't hurt

I'd say making aliases would be the better way to go about it rather than change the tags. Less mess down the road and said tags won't get recreated at any point.

As others have said though the game did a shit job introducing them.

As a BA player, i say don't change anything except giving aliases since everyone I know who plays the game calls the characters by their given name instead of their full name or surname.

I'll go with the idea that people previously voted that genshin characters shouldn't be called out by their full names(tho I honestly voted otherwise), just to keep the sanity.

I play BA daily, and I can assure you their full names are *never* used in game. They only appear on their individual profiles. Changing the tag to use the full name would only cause unnecessary confusion. The current system of "name_(Blue_Archive)" works perfectly fine and I see zero reason for us to change it.

The requests in this topic are meant as utility aliases, meaning the tags will stay as they are, but you'll also be able to find the characters by writing their surnames if you know them or the romanization of Japanese tags.

BA player here. I think adding aliases for the searches is fine.

I doubt it'd be used often save for the rare occasion when someone uses a last name because they don't know how JP names work, and even then that's also already very uncommon because the first "given name_(series)" + BA almost exclusively using their given names catches practically all of the searches.

I mean, the real reason someone would try to search by last name is because Danbooru almost exclusively uses Japanese name order for Japanese names, and almost always prefers using full names, and as was already mentioned other sites, like Pixiv, use the full names of the BA characters.

People keep mentioning that they're BA players and that the game never uses the full names outside of the character profiles (this is actually not true, it's just not common), but this alias is obviously to the benefit of people who don't play the game and expect us to use the full names like we do nearly everywhere else, especially when other sites are using the full names.
