Odds are that any person who types in the word "doom" with no other modifier, are looking for the copyright of the same name.

I'd argue for Dr. Doom, that anyone shortening him to just "Doom" is disrespecting his doctorate.

Well, "Doom" by itself is ambiguous, it could mean either the first Doom game, the 2016 game, or the series.
