Metroid's power suit aliases and implications

Posted under Tags

Explain how you're supposed to find the starting suit, then. As I said in that thread, the Metroid Wiki refers to the starting suit as simply the "Power Suit." All I see is you unilaterally tagging every one of Samus's suits with it, despite already having their own tags, in which case it would've been easier to request an implication. As it stands now, it's worthless and completely redundant with the generic power_suit tag.

I was going to request that implication after this.

Show

Imply varia_suit -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply gravity_suit_(metroid) -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply phazon_suit -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply dark_suit_(metroid) -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply light_suit_(metroid) -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply ped_suit -> power_suit_(metroid)
Imply metroid_suit -> power_suit_(metroid)

But you are right. I ended up mass tagging this to suit my perspective once I noticed the uptick of it's use after Dread was announced.
While I don't agree that it should be for the starting power suit, I won't object to going through the tag myself and pruning every instance the starter suit isn't depicted- if that's what is desired for this tag.
However, I must request you clarify what suits can constitute "the starting suit". According to the history, this DID begin for use as the iconic plain-shoulders/yellow suit. After Dread's announcement, everyone started tagging it onto the starter suit for Metroid Dread (And a couple Fusion suits).
... Ignoring the one person who tagged Raven Beak alone with power_suit_(metroid)

@Hillside_Moose , do you have any thoughts on my proposal?

That aside, this pending alias serves more purpose than just the next step of what I had planned. As I said, it would disambiguate the terms and prevent misuse on suits (clothing) deemed dark or light. No need to put a cap on it over another business.

Metroid Wiki labels the blue starting Dread suit as simply the Power Suit as well. The organic-looking starting suit in Fusion would not count, as it has its own tag: Fusion Suit. Even if you don't want the Dread suit, you could exclude metroid_dread in a search to get the classic orange suit.

Done.
