Thumbnails not draggable

Posted under General

I was wondering why dragging previews (to open a post in a new browser tap) didn't work while dragging others like tags did.

Then I tried inspector mode on Firefox and found these:

class="post-preview-link"draggable="false"

I reckon this is the setting of Danbooru because it's the same with Chrome, but I don't understand the reason for doing this other than causing unnecessary inconvenience, as people can still can still use their scrollwheel to do the same thing or right-click and open in new tap.

Press and hold Ctrl and then click on the thumbnail, it's faster.

Dragging thumbnails is disabled because it often happens accidentally, especially when clicking thumbnails quickly during tag scripting (help:tag scripts).

Thanks for your reply! I haven't encountered that problem very often though, and sometimes end up clicking into a post when I forget that dragging is disabled.

In addition, in the several dragging add-ons I tried, a minimal distance to drag before the command becomes valid can be set to avoid accidents. So to me it sounds a bit like the ban is for those who aren't really reliant on dragging?
