What about belt_pouch?
I think belt pouch is for fantasy adventure, steampunk etc and fanny pack is modern?
personally I wouldn’t want stuff like post #5342853 and post #5339906 to be grouped with post #5352159, and I wouldn’t call the former fanny packs.
Alternatively we can make belt bag an umbrella tag and make the other two implications.

@Hyozen So how are we doing this? belt pouch = fantasy, "low-tech" looking, fanny pack = modern, belt bag as the umbrella?
Currently belt pouch has mainly two types
Western fantasy: post #5339906, post #5348403, post #5328599, post #5332294
And this semi-old, semi-modern, uniform-equipment-y style that I struggle to find the name (became more popular in recent years with games like arknights, girls' frontline)
post #5342853, post #5346698, post #5353820
I don’t know if we want them grouped together?
Tbh I still don't know when creating a umbrella tag is preferable over deprecating a tag and splitting it into more specific tags, but if belt bag has only a few posts, it means most people don't call it by this name, so it doesn't make sense to me turning it into an umbrella.
The point of umbrella is probably to allow people search for a concept without having to know every single subset of it, if a tag has such low numbers I don't think it would work as an umbrella. I still prefer gardening belt bag to the correct tags and check whether a deprecation will be necessary or not, which I believe it won't, with such low use of the tag.

There's a much bigger difference between post #5328599 and post #5332294 than there is between post #5332294 and post #5342853.
If you're trying to split up the tag, it'll be a much easier sell if you reduce the difference to something that is obvious and simple to describe (drawstring pouches vs. those with a satchel-style flap) instead of basing it on such a nebulous concept as "modern" vs. "fantasy".
