Is there a reason why we distinguish between stoats and weasels? These tags have a significant overlap.

Yeah, we could probably consolidate stoat and weasel. I'll edit the BUR.

I'm asking mostly because we merged manatee and dugong because people couldn't tell them apart, and it looks like the same is happening here.

Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weasel) says "weasel" is an umbrella term for many mustelids, including stoats/ermines, and M. nivalis is technically the least weasel (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Least_weasel). Not that I'm proposing a least weasel tag.

Kind of a sidebar, but are Miyu (Blue Archive)'s non avian critter friends (in e.g. post #5311451, post #5317487, post #5338988, post #5272999) weasels or something in that family? I've seen them tagged as squirrel which seems wrong, weasel once which seems right to me, but they're mostly untagged.

They're definitely some kind of mustelid. Probably weasels, since they don't have the ferret face mask? (Disclaimer: not a mustelid expert)
