What is the purpose of these new tags?

because the arcane versions of these characters are different compared to their in-game characters, the characteristics from LOL & Arcane aren't compatible.

thanks for the how to

BUR #8586 has been rejected.

category arcane_caitlyn -> character
category arcane_ekko -> character
category arcane_jayce -> character
category arcane_viktor -> character
category arcane_heimerdinger -> character

the characteristics from LOL & Arcane aren't compatible, they're not the same, and arcane_jinx & arcane_vi have already established separate character tags from their LoL counterparts, so the same should be established for these characters as well.

I manually changed the categories for now. The names still need to be fixed, i.e. Arcane Caitlyn should be Caitlyn (Arcane: LoL).
Edit: Or not, if the other tags are named like this? I'm not into LoL, I'll leave this for other users to decide.

thank you.

I don't think we need separate tags for characters with only a few posts.

there will be more posts put under these tags as time goes on and as the seasons of arcane role in, the tv series and its characters have been recreated by the team that created Arcane (which is the same team that created LoL) so that creating a story with them won't lead to such a mundane & uncreative plotline.

It doesn't matter if the plot is different. Do these characters look different from the original? Would you be able to tell Arcane Caitlyn apart from normal Caitlyn if the commentary didn't mention Arcane? If the skins are different then they get their own chartags, otherwise they should be aliased to the main tag.

From a cursory google search I'm seeing that the skins are also obtainable in game, so I assume they look different from the originals.

Yes, they all look different from the original outfit and are skins for the game itself. Surely based on the series, but the outfit is noticeable.
Even though the names are weird, these are the official skin names. But I don't remember that Arcane Viktor exist like that. Which also means the tags should only be used when you can see which outfit is used.

yes, the way they dress is different so by looks alone there is a visual difference, there's also age differences as well though, thus far each character from arcane have not fully grown to their current in-game ages, on top of this, there are respective differences, for example, in-game viktor has a fully metallic body where's arcane viktor is still human.

all and all, there are too many "slight" differences that warrant them to be tagged differently rather than have them all be thrown in with the rest of the thousands from LoL.

I provided links for every Official Skin in the wiki. (Arcane Jinx, Arcane Vi, Arcane Caitlyn and Arcane Jayce)

So far, there is no official Arcane Viktor, Arcane Heimerdinger or Arcane Ekko Skin made for the League of Legends game. There is still a noticable difference between the original character and the Arcane Versions, which means the tags can stay, but if they get another name, if they ever come out as official skins, they need to be renamed. For example, so far the Arcane Ekko skin will probably be named Firelight Ekko instead of "Arcane" Ekko.

On another note: As these are official skins with official skin names and outfits, it's probably going to be mixed up a lot. This post #4951573 is what Arcane Vi official looks like, not something like post #4970049. I do think we should only use the tags, when the outfit that is shown is the official skin outfit and not for every image that has arcane as it's copyright. But I guess a lot of people will come by and just tag every image of for example Arcane:_League_of_legends Vi_(League_of_legends) as Arcane Vi anyway.

the fact that these skins are not of any ordinary skin line and is instead from a tv series should also be a reason why they are named differently, there are genuine significant differences in character between each of the respective counterparts.

plus considering the fact that arcane is a popular new tv series with outstanding artwork means that these alternate characters will only grow to be something more than just skins as the series gets more and more popular, which in turn will urge a lot of people to use different tags other than "character_(LoL)".

so creating some type of new tag for these arcane counterparts like "firelight ekko" will soon be something you may want to do for all the characters that show up in arcane for the sake of order.
