A teacher should always be present with this tag.

I checked both wikis and they didn't tell me anything about how to use the tag, but here I found this topic #14393
So I'm bringing up this topic for further discussion. If we want the teacher tag to be used a certain way, then it should be mentioned in both wikis of those tags.

Should teacher not be used on nude posts? Does it have to be a school setting? Further clarification would be really appreciated.

Teacher and student seems to exist because student doesn't, thus the tag has value if you want to search for teacher + student instead of searching for other tags to try to get desirable results.

The way I see it, teacher and student is bound to include both teacher and student, so the implication makes tagging easier, like a bunny tail -> tail, besides, it wouldn't change the already existing tag overlap and nude in teacher for that matter.

Teacher and student and teacher aren't respectively used for NSFW and SFW content or specific settings, and if it should be the rule, (though it doesn't make sense literally right now) they should be gardened and have it pointed out in their tag wikis. But I don't understand why they should be that way.

The problem with the implication is that Teacher and student will often have canon tagging, so you will see characters that by lore you know they are teacher and student but it isn't shown visually, so in these cases, there won't be nothing in the post itself that indicates they're a teacher. I would say its a little similar to incest, which most of the time you can't know if the characters are siblings except by lore as well.

Student was nuked a few months ago because it was essentially a duplicate school_uniform tag. If we aren't going to do the same to teacher, there should be a compelling reason for it to exist.

There's a potential use case for teacher for finding images like post #2332308 and post #4731253, but that case gets a lot weaker when the same tag is used for random images of naked people outside of a classroom (post #65562, post #4435149, post #5044615, and so on). If this tag is worth keeping, it needs a stricter definition than what it has right now, and any tag that implies teacher should be bound by that definition as well.

There's nothing in the pictures indicating that the characters are teachers (or indicating that there are both a teacher and a student present in the picture), so we only know it either by lore, dialogue or the artist's commentary.

I don't see a problem with them being tagged with teacher and student because it works as a fetish tag in these posts, specially the NSFW ones. I mean, sexual acts between teacher and student are a very classic and known fetish, but I think they definitely should not be tagged with teacher if you can't tell the character is a teacher by the art alone.
