BUR #5848 has been approved by @evazion.
Synonyms. Most of the examples under spit appear to be what others would tag saliva. A significant chunk also qualify for saliva_trail on top (which also implies saliva).
There's a handful (<5) of more specific examples that might be better described as spitting or sneezing (and might not necessarily count as saliva), though those can be gardened out. So far only found post #471522 to be problematic (the others all involve visible saliva).

Speaking of, ran into another related tag after posting the BUR. It's spittle. Currently only two examples, which also count for saliva but are not tagged. I was going to manually 'rename' them as saliva, but then I noticed they seem to be referring to a specific "saliva" trope. That is, flying_saliva_drops, similar to flying_sweatdrops and flying_teardrops. Should I (manually) rename it to flying_spittle instead and then populate it with examples? Or do we already have an equivalent tag?
I guess spittake and sneezing have some overlap, but spittle flying everywhere (with visible discrete drops) when someone is screaming at another person or scarfing down food doesn't quite fit under either.
