is pool #4980 official_art? Moreover can all art drawn by the Mangaka 'owner' of the copyright Stated in a loose sense copyright law is in fact intricate I assume in charge be considered official_art?

It probably technically counts, but I wouldn't tag them such because I don't think those are what people are looking for when searching ijiranaide_nagatoro-san official_art. This will require them to exclude pool #4980 (and pool #7364), needing another tag to do so (which will inconvenience anonymous and member users).

In the same topic should early web comics clearly apart from the actual jump-start of the works get a 'junior' copyright tag? Such as nagatoro-san_(webcomic)

I suppose we can, but do we really need to? It's just going to be the equivalent of searching ijiranaide_nagatoro-san 774_(nanashi) -official_art anyway. Unless you tag all of those official_art, at which point it's kinda like... causing a problem just to justify a solution.

Hmm, well, now that I have reconsidered things, I suppose a potential nagatoro-san_(webcomic) tag can be useful for people trying to search for older per-serialization images without resorting to a three tag search, and also provides robustness in case people start tagging the old images with official art... so maybe leaning towards yes on the second proposal.

Anybody else have any opinions on this issue?

Technically it fits due to being made by the original author, but I don't count it as official art because at the time the artist created it, it was just his personal work with his original characters, it wasn't an official/licensed product like a manga or anime.

I'm not sure on the webcomic idea. I fear it might end up with every post before a certain date having that tag, when in truth there's zero difference between before and after.

We don't differentiate between OPM's webcomic and manga/anime (and those are still separate entities, given that both the manga and the webcomic are still ongoing), or any other series like this, so I don't think we should do it here either.

The webcomic tag doesn’t seem very useful, unless there were some really big diferences between the manga and the webcomic. Characters and their personalities seems to be the same in both.
The Yu-Gi-Oh! (toei) and Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters have separate tags despite both being based on the Yugioh manga and have in general the same characters, but the tone and events in both animes are VERY different, character design also have some notable diferences too (like Kaiba’s green hair). Doesn’t seem to be the case with Nagatoro, as the idea and tone are in general the same, just the webcomic being a ‘proto’ version of the manga. That’s why I’m -1 for webcomic tag.
