New artist tag being created for a banned artist

The recently banned artist yuguraniru has had an alias and multiple links deleted and placed under a new tag baokugen, one of their known aliases, as this was done by a user under the same name, I assume they're trying to rebrand or remove public access to old art.
Regardless of the intentions, this is the same artist, and I was wondering if this was alright? I had reverted these changes once, before they were quickly redone by the same user.

We have occasionally separated artist tags on request. I can't speak for this exact situation since I don't know the details, but it's not something that's completely unheard of.

I got an email from this artist saying he wanted to post his works here, and asking for the name "yuguraniru" to be removed from artist #182784 (baokugen). It wasn't clear to me what he wanted, since yuguraniru was a separate artist who was already banned. I guess we can assume he wants to rebrand and that baokugen should be treated as a separate unbanned artist.

I figured it was something like that, but I hadn't known if that's something done upon request. I'll make sure to keep it in mind and leave it up to those who know what's going on to make changes to this and other cases.
