Maneki-Neko / New Touhou Girl

Posted under General

Currently most unnamed cat girl (touhou) posts are tagged maneki-neko.
When should a post be tagged maneki-neko? Not every post of Komano Aunn should be tagged komainu and not every Remilia Scarlet post should be tagged vampire. The vampire page even states

This tag should not be used unless vampiric traits are clearly visible in the image.

I remember there being something similar written for Aunn somewhere but I can't find it.
As it currently stands in the near future one will have to search for maneki-neko -unnamed_cat_girl_(touhou) to find any pictures of the traditional statues, so I am asking what should be the standard for a post of unnamed cat girl (touhou) to deserve the maneki-neko tag?

"Canon" tagging is a common issue with "race" tags like vampire, especially in Touhou.

I did a once-over and it seems like nearly every image before this new character had either a blatant reference, post #2702944, or just the statue as is. I think that similar standard should apply to this character. It shouldn't be tagged on every image that could possibly be the paw pose like post #4423093 or post #4424772. It should only be for extremely clear images with the whole coin and pose, like post #4424868 or post #4424480.
