alias adjusting_shoe putting_on_shoe removing_shoe -> adjusting_footwear

Edit: So I accidentally'd it... Sorry my bad.

The tags are "removing_shoes" and "putting_on_shoes" not shoe singular.

Yes and?
adjusting_shoes is currently aliased to adjusting_shoe. Perhaps after aliasing to adjusting_footwear, we should remove the adjusting_shoe alias to clean up tag vomit and make it look nicer?
If you're suggesting we should differentiate between singular and plural, "plural" posts where one shoe is removed and the hand is putting on or removing the other shoe are too rare.

Updated

I object to all three of these changes, since there are obvious contextual differences to all three actions. You can tell when a character is getting dressed versus undressed.

Having a super-tag, "adjusting", with sub-variants "removing" and "putting_on" is the best choice. No confusion.

Also, changing "shoes" to "footwear" is a TERRIBLE decision, although it appears to be incidental to this case. Shoes and socks are different garments.

Which is why socks go under legwear instead.

I'm having this discussion elsewhere - legwear is far too broad a term for a specific garment redirect, confusing shoes, socks, tights, skirts, pants, shorts, anklets, kneepads and the wazou. Evidence is ample, head over to https://danbooru.donmai.us/forum_topics/18326 - for just the search "red_legwear pants" along, 29 mistags occur across 26 pages.

The dictionary definition for legwear is "hosiery", meaning socks, stockings and tights, but in practice it's used for all items worn on the leg (the literal meaning of leg-wear) evenly. Furthermore, someone searching for socks wouldn't want, say, stirrup tights or footless leggings, and vice versa.

I support moving the tags to the usage of footwear, but there are examples of putting on and removing footwear that wouldn't fit under the term adjusting footwear. post #3170736, post #3491804, and post #4400564 is removing footwear, but it wouldn't necessarily be adjusting footwear. Similarly I think post #2059163, post #2370745, and post #1605385 are putting on footwear that wouldn't necessarily fit adjusting footwear.

Good post

That's 29 mistags out of 496 posts. Really not the groundbreaking evidence of a major problem that you're implying it to be.

Most if not all adjusting footwear posts appear to be in the process of putting on or removing footwear, just nearer to completion of the act than the ones you consider strictly putting on / removing "but not necessarily adjusting". My issue is our language doesn't have a word to specifically encapsulate both putting on and removing footwear.

I had a hard time imagining ways to "adjust" footwear that doesn't involve putting on, removing, or tying shoes. Do people really do a thing in real life often where their foot itches or is being pinched by sock somewhere and they wriggle their shoe without removing at least halfway off to put back on?
