What are the visual identifiers that distinguish what is being tagged "leather belt" from other belt posts?
Usually leather is brown or black. In Golden Kamuy (for which I've requested this implication) all the belts are made of leather because at that time there were no other material for them (or so I suppose). This logic applies for every art that depicts medieval times or so.
That sounds like it is based on a lot of assumptions, especially when the tag is being used to tag things you really can't tell what they're made of (like post #3407689 or post #4144880). I would think someone using the leather tag would actually want to find things that actually looks like they're made of leather, not images of things generically brown or in a context we can assume means its made of leather.

I can agree with you about leather, but leather belt must implicate belt anyway, right?

Notice how I didn't say color though. Given the right amount of detail, a leather belt should be able to appear as any color, as they do in the real world.
Anyways, the above are all solid indicators, but are more like circumstantial evidence given that being definitive with something as nuanced as leather would be hard and somewhat subjective for 2D imagery. One that I found as a really good example that seems to tick of all of the above is post #4165498. However, there were others like post #3330500 which had none of the above except for being brown and that the character is known in the anime to wear a leather belt. IMO such posts should not have such a nuanced tag unless the image has enough supporting evidence to justify such a tagging.
