EN to JP names aliases but EN names are official.

This only covers Splatoon 1 so far, except the tags for Marina and Pearl.

not aliased, but "octoling" should be the tag for Takozonesu.

From what I understand, "octarian" is the term for the octo valley enemies, and octolings are basically octarians that can shapeshift into animals (octopuses) like inklings can, so basically all octolings are octarians. I'd be for merging the tags because from the point of view of danbooru there's no difference between them. Non-shapeshifting octopuses are already tagged with octopus splatoon.

+1 We already use the English names for a lot of other things from that series, like the weapons and Squidbeak Splatoon.

I'd be against changing the Takozonesu tag though, since it indicates a particular uniform and equipment setup. If we could come up with an alternative though, like the Squidbeak Splatoon tag I mentioned above, then I'd be up for that. Perhaps octarian_commando, octoling_gear, or something like that.

Question though... I've been translating the character names as Japanese. Going forward, are we using the English names? Also, would we need to go back and fix those prior translations?

The wiki mentions the fan name "octozons" but otherwise I suppose we could use octoling commando? It should implicate octoling as well if it's just octolings wearing their enemy gear.

I would say yes to both. It would be weird, and maybe confusing, to have the tags in English but using the Japanese names in translations. That's just my opinion, though.
