forum #176795: Just create alias tooru_(maidragon) -> tohru_(maidragon), it will reverse the alias in a single shot. But yeah, I'm leaving it open for another debate between prescriptivists and descriptivists.
If we're going off the romanization rules, places such as MAL and AnimeDB use Tooru since it's the official romanization as far as I know. But, both the Dragon Maid wikis use Tohru. Plus, Tooru is a more accurate romanization of her Japanese name トール, and that follows Danbooru's romanization rules as well.
I think the current alias of tohru -> tooru is fine as it is. People can search and tag tohru if they'd like, and they'll be redirected.
The official romanization appears to be "Tohru" and is the spelling used by Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Seven Seas.
I stand corrected then. It still seems to be somewhat split though between the major anime related sites. So then I guess it's now a matter of following Danbooru's romanization rules or not now.

As far as i know, official romanization always takes priority (with rare exceptions such as artoria_pendragon).

We updated our romanization flexibility in topic #17000, additional details in topic #17011, so if Tohru is the official romanization then there's no actual reason for us not to use it. Tohru is perfectly in line with our "rules".
Also as Travley said, "create alias" will reverse the alias in a single step, no need to do it in two steps anymore a change I'm very happy about
