Sources as meta tags

I think it would be useful to have tags for different source websites. Especially since many pixiv posts have pximg as a source internally.

I'm not familiar with all of the sites we upload from here, so this is not an exhaustive list.

I'm also not very familiar with mass updates, so I don't know if this would even work at all.

I think it's a bad idea because it means we would have to constantly create new tags for new sites.

To search for pixiv sources you can use pixiv:any. The aim is to implement something similar for all the other supported sites server side, without need for additional tags.

Rather, the big concern I see is that somewhere around 3M post versions would be created from this, and that amount of churn really isn't worth creating source metatags IMO.

I don't think this is worth adding an extra tag to basically every post on the site. Having to search things like source:*pximg.net* may be inconvenient, but it's not something most people need to do very often. Not often enough to justify adding an extra tag to every post.
