Doom franchise update

I suggest a mass update for Doom franchise tag; the Doom (game) tag refers to the first 1993 game but is currently used as an umbrella tag for the other tagged games in the franchise (Doom II, Doom 64, Doom 3, Doom (2016), Doom Eternal, and also Doom (comic)):

• mass update Doom (game) to Doom (series)
• Implicate Doom (2016) and Doom Eternal to Doom (series)

In the search "doom_(game) -doom_ii -doom_3 -doom_64 -doom_(2016) -doom_eternal -doom_(comic)", there are mostly posts for the series in general, the few ones referencing the first Doom game are parody of the iconic cover (ex: post #3278094).

My only doubt is the tag name for the first Doom game, should it be named Doom I? Wikipedia named it as Doom (1993), doesn't seem like a bad tag name at all imo.

I'm going to -1 the (1993) as hard as I can. Doom is Doom. What's wrong with keeping Doom_(game)?

I agree with this. Giving a number in this case also seems strange because there's not an exact pattern for the numbered sequels (Doom II and Doom 3).

BUR #3353 has been approved by @evazion.

rename doom_(game) -> doom_(series)
create implication doom_(2016) -> doom_(series)
create implication doom_eternal -> doom_(series)

For now I will request the mass update/implications, its easy to note the posts for the first Doom game later.

Update: Rename instead of Mass-update. I have saved the info of both Doom (game) and Doom (series) wikis to organize the two tags later, if the Bur is approved.

You can still access the wiki page after a rename/alias & manually change the title to point to the new tag.

The 1993 game and the 2016 game are both officially titled Doom. Doom (game) is not a good qualifier, I guarantee that people will keep using it for either the 2016 game or the series as a whole. I suggest either Doom 1 or Doom I, this is what the community normally calls the first game when it needs to be specified.

Then I believe the more appropriate name would be Doom I, because of Doom II.

How about Doom_(classic)?

Nothing that a little gardening every so often can't fix. It's not exactly a high-volume tag on this site.
