This could very well go the other way. Space helmet was created first on Danbooru, with the astronaut_helmet tag being created around five years later and lacking a wiki outlining way it may be used instead of the original tag which it has outpaced in usage.

I favor space helmet over astronaut helmet as for the most part it is tagged for just a glass bowl over a character's head, not a very descriptive gear that an actual astronaut would wear, the greater popularity of space helmet, and that one does not need to be an "astronaut" per se to wear a space helmet; they could be a Cosmonaut or with another space agency or just wearing a space helmet for no particular reason. An astronaut_helmet tag *could* be used to describe the very specialized gear of astronauts, however its usage has not at all been for that purpose to present and really either tag appears used for any type of space helmet by uploaders.

I've never really understood why we have 2 different tags for this, the only issue I have is that astronaut helmet would fit better with astronaut but it's not too important in my opinion.

There could be a point there with it comporting nicely to the astronaut_ tags, but not with things like post #3781614 where the helmet just looks like they're wearing a fishbowl. If people want I can reverse the request

Agree with the alias. It serves better for when characters that are using those helmets but they aren't exactly astronaults.

I have no issue with the broader tag name, but it should also be pointed out that fishbowl helmets should also have a tag for themselves given their distinct appearance and usage in more than just space (post #2487140).
