"Slice of cake"

Posted under Tags

Is there a particular reason we're favoring the "slice_of" naming over the "_slice" naming? Given we do not have a real slice tag nor is there really a need for a top-level slice_of_food tag, why shouldn't we be using the order of <food_item>_slice? We tag for bread, pie, cake, and pizza so that being the primary concept being tagged seems more important than the slice aspect.

You make a good point. I didn't check it out, so I thought that was how the slice mnemonic was being used. I changed my vote above, and instead I'd be all for a reverse alias naming for all of the "slice_of" tags.

BUR #3025 has been approved by @evazion.

create alias slice_of_cake -> cake_slice
create alias slice_of_pizza -> pizza_slice
create alias slice_of_pie -> pie_slice
create alias slice_of_bread -> bread_slice

Standardizing on slice_of_x. I think slice of cake is a more common phrase than cake slice, but cake slice works better with autocomplete and with ordering in tag lists.

EDIT: The bulk update request #3025 (forum #169362) has been approved by @evazion.
