[REJECTED] Tag alias: science_babies -> ips_cells

Posted under Tags

tag alias #15917 science_babies -> ips_cells has been rejected.

Reason: Another common term for the children of yuri couples. I originally searched for science babies because I'm familiar with the subreddit, but since I didn't know the term iPS cells I just assumed there was no tag for it.

EDIT: This tag alias is pending automatic rejection in 5 days.

I agree, science_babies has a clear meaning. Ips cells don't become babies, and if they did then you would simply get clones of one parent.

We can write in the ips_cells wiki "For babies of same-sex couples theoretically created using ips cells, see science_babies"

My thoughts exactly. "Science babies" sounds like babies wearing labcoats. Something like single-sex reproduction would be a lot more descriptive and less prone to misuse.

“Science babies” seems to be a pretty common name for that, at least on the Internets, and I kind of doubt anyone would misuse it for babies wearing labcoats or something like that…

that example was silly, but its still easy to confuse with something like test tube babies. its also easy to forget how insular certain things on the internet can be. we should use something that makes more immediate sense to everyone to avoid misuse, or even under-use.

if they mated does cover this to an extent, but there are examples of this that aren't really canon or non-canon (post #3505758). same-sex child or single-sex reproduction is a more direct and accurate tag.

Maybe the least ambiguity in a tag name would be had by splitting it up by gender and having tags for two mommies and two daddies.

Single-sex reproduction is okay too, but a bit long-winded.

Two mothers and two fathers sounds better and aligns with the other family relation tags.

That sounds more like the child needs to have the same sex as its parents or the image depicts a child with one parent of the same sex (mother_and_daughter, father_and_son).

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. So...
