I'd be okay with a set of wristwear tags (although possibly not extended to jewellery like bracelets and bangles), but don't like armwear. Having the same tag for elbow gloves/bridal gauntlets etc. (which are stuff worn on the hand that happens to extend up the arm) as for detached sleeves/arm_warmers (which are things worn over the arm that can also sometimes fall over part or all of the hand) just seems completely wrong to me. And if we don't include elbow gloves etc. then you're basically just left with detached sleeves and arm warmers, neither of which have their own colour tags at present. I'd actually be okay with that (especially given the propensity for arm warmers to get tagged as detached sleeves by mistake) although it would create questions around "gloves where the hand is not in the image" cases like post #3229266.
The legwear, neckwear and footwear tags sort of work only because the same character will very rarely be wearing multiple types one over the top of another (when they are different colours and lengths on opposite arms the image should get both asymmetrical and mismatched legwear/footwear) - there are only 45 images with the necktie/neck_ribbon/solo combination* and most of those are where one or the other is not being worn by a character. Wristwear is similar although without the mismatched/asymmetrical tags at present. By comparison, wearing multiple things that would count as armwear, one over the top of another, is relatively common - there are 1919 images tagged with the elbow gloves/detached sleeves/solo combination** (yes I know some are mistags, but so are some of the 45 necktie/neck_ribbon/solo ones) and them being the same colour is if anything rarer than them not.
In other words, different types of "armwear" are not worn instead of one another in the way that different types of footwear, legwear and neckwear - and indeed wristwear - are.
Wristwear certainly shouldn't be included with armwear.
*about 0.4% of the neck_ribbon solo combination.
**about 2.5% of the elbow_gloves solo combination. Detached_sleeves arm_warmers solo is over 10% of the arm_warmers solo count, but that's largely due to mistagging rather than one being worn over the other.
