straight and straight_shota

Posted under General

The "straight" tag is mostly used along with the "shota" tag to label straight shota images. According to the wiki, the straight tag can also be used apart from that simply to indicate heterosexual acts. However, couldn't people just use -yuri or -yaoi?

There are far less straight shota images going under the "straight_shota" tag. Might it make more sense to just use that, and get rid of the straight tag? Or maybe you think it would be better the other way around, getting rid of "straight_shota" and just using "straight."

Discuss.

I would recommend keeping the straight_shota tag, because shota -yaoi could yield a lot of images just consisting of a single boy (unless I misunderstand how the yaoi tag is supposed to be used). I guess you could use shota -yaoi breasts or something, but asdfgasdfgasfg

No, you're right, and that seems to fit the "specific circumstances of the shota tag" thing I was wondering about. I'm fine with keeping straight_shota and dumping the straight tag.

By any chance the shotacon tag is in use? Some other sites used the shotacon tag to denote straight shota while using the shota tag for just the single shota pictures, and adding the yaoi tag if there's any sex or anything the like within the picture.

FWIW, I remember wishing there was a way to blacklist "shota" *provided* ir isn't accompanied by "straight". I stopped using blacklists when I was a moderator however, and haven't felt the need to reinstate one since.
