Can someone please explain how you are supposed to get original image links for artstation? The methods given in howto:artstation and artstation_sample don't work. Both /orignal/ links given as examples come back forbidden/not found (one is meant to work) and so far as I can tell the bot is pulling md5 hashes out of the recycle bin.
Just to add on to the above, I recently discovered with the help of evazion that when the Cloudflare servers Artstation uses has a cache miss, you get the "original" large-size file. When it is a cache hit, it serves up a "polished" version which is basically an image that has had its metadata removed and recompresses the images.

Okay, so nothing I can do right now. I don't like to use re-compressed images if I can avoid it.
I get that they want to reduce bandwidth, but the originals as the artist made them should be available by some means - that's what I like about pixiv, if you're signed in you can get the full size for just about anything, not something re-compressed to a standard size.

Yeah, seems they wanted to save extra bandwidth. For now I recommend making sure there's no other source for pictures you want to upload from artstation. SauceNAO partially indexes deviantart and often artists that post in one post in both, so it's worth a try to use it to make sure you're uploading the best possible version.

Try to locate an artist page for the artist and locate other profiles they have which may have higher resolution posts. Also update, update, artist entries, it should be everyone's credo to follow as many links as an artist has as possible and add those profiles to the artist entry. And to make artist entries.
