Replacement note on upload page and flag notice

Posted under General

Hello.
I wanted to ask if the help:upload_notice should be edited.
I've noticed that multiple users are simply re-uploading their uploaded sample images instead of letting them get replaced, like in post #2974619.
I think if we make a notice at the top of the upload page that such cases will be reduced, since it's just annoying if you get a deleted upload because you were not aware of this feature.

Thoughts?

I think adding those things in both may be fine, although I am concerned at the length that both notices are at. I'm guessing that many if not most users don't read those walls of text, and even if they do they'll probably only read it once and just glaze over it in the future, missing any revisions or changes.

Image sample is specifically mentioned as a valid reason to flag. Shouldnt those get replaced instead? Also what does the "multiple pages of a doujinshi" mean here? It is clear that we dont flag bad art in comic pools if the whole pool is considered good.

We ought to trim the uploads notice down some, it's getting too long. I think we could drop the part on tagging your uploads. Uploaders are now warned about that after upload if they didn't tag well enough. I think the part about self-uploads could be dropped too. Self uploads aren't that big of a deal, I don't think they're enough of a problem to warrant being the first thing in the uploads notice.

I agree there.
If wanted then I'll treat this in one day or so and look if there are disagreements.
