Isn't it a bit far fetched to tag these with calico then?

If I search for a specific type of a dog, cat, bird etc. then I don't want to find some humans in it that are just humanized...
One could tag those also with calico pattern...

It's not an entirely uncommon practice on this site.

I'm not entirely sure about the tag calico_pattern. What could be done instead would be to create a calico_cat tag. For reference, the white cat, black cat, and tabby cat tags exist, amongst a few other colors and patterns.

Calico isn't a breed of cat, it's a specific color pattern that can be found on many different breeds. A calico pattern tag would be redundant because that's precisely what calico is.
