How many tags do we have here?

Is it possible to determine the total count of tags here? Like, how many general tags, copyright tags, etc...
Of course this number constantly changes as new/defunct tags are created/destroyed, so even just a snapshot is okay
I tried one time by listing all general tags by tag count but as I reached page 1000 and went next page the order got screwed up
I can also try listing them all by default (date created), skip to page 1000 then count how many pages will there be by how many times I have to go to the next page, but it is cumbersome.

Or is it a feature for higher-tier users only? or is this possible via API (I know nothing about API so I think it has a way to know)? or I haven't lurked long enough on the site map...?

Are you asking for all tags ever created, or only those with a post count greater than zero?

I poked the tag search a bit and of non-empty tags we have roughly…

 
(Copyright, character and general have a tolerance of ±10. Counts for artist and total are inaccurate.)

At the time of writing, 1 428 283 tags were ever created. This includes all typos.

But, I found a few more interesting metrics that I can contribute. Basically, the below is the count for the different orders of magnitude, i.e. order 1 is <10, order 2 is 10-99, order 3 is 100-999, etc.

Banned artist is the highest populated artist tag with > 10K posts.

The 5-order artist tag is banned artist, so it's not actually a single artist.
