[Tag idea] Monokini

There's something I want to discuss: Having a monikini tag. A monokini is a swimsuit that looks like a bikini bottom, but doesn't have a top. Some people use the word as synonimous with one-piece swimsuit, but monokini is actually any swimsuit that exposes the breasts.

This might sound like it could be confused with bikini bottom, but, if you notice, images that depict bikini bottoms can be divided into three categories:

My suggestion is we tag any picture with no top visible as monokini, use bikini_top_removed only for images where you can see a top (ergo, you can prove a top exists), and use bikini_bottom for the ambiguous images.
We would also only use (color)_bikini_bottom for the ambiguous images and bikinis with different top and bottom colors, while the images with no top visible would be tagged (color)_monokini. Example, post #2093906 would be tagged white_monokini, post #1634429 would be tagged white_monokini, post #1759401 would be tagged black_monokini, etc.

What do you think?

What about bikini_top + bikini_bottom?

Yes, I know bikini_bottom exists, I'm just suggesting changing a bit how it's used.

This is... not at all what a monokini is. A simple Google Image search can show you that a monokini is a one-piece swimsuit with cut-outs, often on the sides. A monokini is not simply a bikini bottom.

Oxford Dictionary, Meriam-Webster Dictionary, and Dictionary.com all agree with me.
Yes, some people nowadays use it to mean "one-piece swimsuit with cutouts", but ever since it was invented, the whole point was "swimsuit that exposes the breasts", which nowadays usually means "a bikini that has no top part".

EDIT: Urban Dictionary has multiple entries on monokini, if you're interested. Entry 2 gives multiple meanings.

Literally no one in common speech uses it as a synonym for bikini bottom though. I've worked in multiple jobs in fashion involving swimwear, and no one has ever requested a monokini and meant a bikini bottom. They've all universally meant a one-piece with cut-outs. So I think it would be a confusing/not useful tag since it isn't how it is commonly used. Bikini bottom, however, is an extremely common term with one well-known usage, so wouldn't it be better/easier?

Ehmm, sort of. I use monokini to refer to any one-piece swimsuit with flamboyant cutouts much like in the style of an exotic leotard or something like. But the term is somewhat old, I rarely ever think of it.

This is literally the first time I have ever heard of the term. It sounds like something you say as a joke at a pool party.

As for the tag, it sounds like you're complicating something that is already intuitive to tag in the first place.

What about just calling it bikini bottom only? That would be analogous to the existing underwear only tag, and it would be less prone to confusion.

I endorse this. Of course with a bikini top only as well.

Monokini is a term I've never even heard of. And my first thought was "like a one-piece." So in terms of newcomers and non-forum-lurkers evazion's is the easiest to understand and adapt to for them.

Is this substantially different from bikini_bottom topless?

Going to agree with iridescent slime. The tag seems redundant with a bikini_bottom topless search, as pretty much all depictions under that lack the top part completely.

That's pretty much my use of monokini, and I often wish it were a tag separate from casual_one-piece_swimsuit.
