Tag subscriptions will stop updating on February 1

Posted under Bugs & Features

Yeah. You can do the same exact thing with saved searches. Just put them all under one category. The only difference is that you can't share it this time. If you have a saved search category named "foo", you can search all saved searches under it with search:foo but it's limited to yourself.

Ok, maybe I'm just not doing things correctly... I went to my tags and set them to convert. I can see the converted tag searches under Saved Searches and I can view everything with search:all.

But... how exactly do I add new searches to my saved searches? Or add new tag searches to one of my existing saved search categories? I've poked around in the Wiki trying to find info on how but I'm drawing a blank so far.

If you make a search on the posts page, like, say the_legend_of_zelda official_art, there is a "Save Search" button in the bottom left that you can click to add it to your searches.

Putting it at the bottom of the page instead of in the left menu somewhere? There's no telling how long it would have taken for me to spot that. Thanks for the heads up!

All remarkably complicated compared to the good old Tag Subscriptions of the old days.

Yes, but I assume there are back end reasons why this is the better option. Just something to get use to.

Could we get a quick link to search:all in the navigator to replace the subscriptions button when this all happens?

Created issue #2831 to replace Subscriptions link with a link to Search:All.

With the latest commit, clicking Saved Searches in the top sub-menu will link to search:all. The link to manage your saved searches has been migrated. To find it, do a post search for a saved search, e.g. search:all, and a Manage saved searches will appear in the Related section on the bottom of the left sections (under Tags).

I have no idea how Saved Searches work, nor what they are good for.

I have them, but only I think because I wrongly clicked on the export button, and then had to painstakingly reconstitute my Tag Subscriptions from the new Saved Searches.

Would it be possible to make this an option, rather than a permanent change? I use saved searches for tag gardening lots of specific search combinations, which search:all is pretty useless for. It was really nice to have a quick link to the saved searches list, instead of the current multi-step process.

That's pretty doable if there's demand for it. Or you could do what I sometimes do to hop around the site, which is just manually type the URL modifier to the end of the url... for saved searches, that would be "/saved_searches", i.e. http://danbooru.donmai.us/saved_searches .

I got pretty confused trying to find my tag gardening searches as well. I've essentially been keeping a set of searches "bookmarked" under a "tag editing" title, so having them crammed together with all the posts in my five other sets or even intermingled with all the different gardening searches doesn't really work very well.
