same by definition and tag usage. open for more intuitive and descriptive name than these tags if such term is available. no particular preference whichever is the surviving tag.

Between \||/ and open_\m/, I'd support \||/.
\m/ is a deliberate hand gesture (although still holding out it'd get renamed ILY_gesture), but the concept these tags are covering is more frequently intended as a natural fingering position instead of a deliberate gesture. The tag also has nothing to do with \m/, so using it in the name would confuse people into thinking there is a relationship between the tags when none exists.
As for alternative naming, can't think of anything off the top of my head.

how does it differ from open_hand?
Are you asking visual difference, as in the difference between post #2444361 and post #2464851?
These tags also include things like post #2043604, post #1931281, and post #1542879 that aren't open hands.

Yes. Middle fingers together. Got it. I probably should have read its wiki before asking.
Although I'm not sure I understand why the rest of those posts aren't open hands.
The bulk update request #861 has been approved.
Note: Alias is open_\m/ -> \||/. Can reverse it later if necessary.
