Man, if only this site has "giving reputation" feature, I'll send to you over and over again. This is what I exactly need right now.

Also, I see 3 apps based on Android, which one is the best in your opinion?

I'm glad to see that you find this thread useful. :D

I tested Nori and Anime boxes (Android). Both look pretty solid, in my eyes.

Right now Nori seems to have a small bug (ParseException Unparseable Date) when used in connection with a Danbooru API key. Please note that this project just recently resumed active development. The developer explained why the project was on hold since 2014 here.

In general, I prefer to see open-source software projects interacting with each other. Don't forget that Danbooru is also open-source software. ; )

Well, Zenbooru is invitation-only, so I'll settle on Nori.
I notices that Nori encourages us to install F-Droid. Is this really necessary?

It's only necessary if you want automated updates. APKs for all releases get uploaded to GitHub: https://github.com/tjg1/nori/releases

We're still working on a build that can be uploaded to Google Play without violating their content policy (it will be missing a few features from the F-Droid/Github version).

Update 1: Looks like I'm the only one so far getting the unparseable date exception. Can anyone with >=gold account please test Nori with an API key? It looks like the error is caused by a Danbooru API bug that is affecting >=gold accounts only.
Update 2: ParseException is caused by "(GMT+00:00) UTC" setting (see forum #118134).

I wonder how that's possible.

My belief is that Google uses an automated process to scan APKs for strings that relate to sexually explicit content. In order to make Nori available on the Play Store, I’d have to remove all mentions of NSFW content and sites like Danbooru from the Play Store build.

Let me make it absolutely clear that I have no intention of preventing users from accessing whatever sites they want using Nori. It’s possible that I will have to force the SFW search result filter in the Google Play version of the app. There will always be an unrestricted APK available from GitHub and an older version of Nori is already available on F-Droid, a Free and Open Source Android App Repository.

Will safebooru.donmai.us make the cut or will the Google's automated process consider the donmai.us domain itself entirely NSFW?

I have no intention of restricting what sites people can use. The Google Play version won't come with Safebooru (or any other site) configured by default, but you will still be able to add whatever site you like manually.

Nori has just been (re-)released on the Google Play Store.

I've decided that the best way to avoid violating Google's content policy (and move the project forward) would be to turn it into a general purpose image search client with Flickr replacing Safebooru as the default API. All the features that make it great for browsing boorus are still there, but you have to add them to the "Service Settings" list manually. Support for more sites (such as Reddit/Imgur) is on the way.

You can download it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.github.tjg1.nori

Nori is free and open-source software without any advertisements or invasive tracking. You can contribute code or find out how to donate to support its continued development on its GitHub page: https://github.com/tjg1/nori.

It seems Nori didn't work for me. It always load a blank page :(

@Sacriven

Try this:

  • Go into settings.
  • Open "Service Settings".
  • Tap the + icon.
  • Under "Service name" enter "Danbooru".
  • Under "Service URL" enter "https://danbooru.donmai.us".
  • Under "Username" enter your Danbooru user name.
  • Under "Password/API key" enter your API key. You can find your API key on the "My Account" page on Danbooru.
  • Tap "OK".
