The Flaging of posts for bad_anatomy and related

Posted under General

Now maybe it's just that more people are commenting on when posts get hit with it but recently it feels like there have been quite a lot of Posts getting flagged with this even when it's a very minor error. I'm getting a little worried about I mean sure if the Image has absolutely horrible Anatomy but a lot of these I have trouble seeing that much of an error even it's pointed out by the tagger what their problem with it is. Is an image having perfect anatomy really needed for them not to be flagged.

On a another related note is it okay to allow something to be repeatedly tagged for the same thing there was a post while back that appeared to go through moderation got tagged for bad_anatomy got appealed and resolved then got flagged by someone else with a slight rewording of the first tagged and then didn't get mod approved again. Maybe I'm wrong but that feel like abuse to keep shunting a image back into the mod que until it final doesn't get approved again.

I don't think that an image has to be anatomically correct to pass the mod queue. There are tons of high rated posts with bad anatomy out there, which aren't even tagged as such.

As for your second point, I can't really evaluate the proceedings you described because I am not in the mod queue, but repetitive flagging of the same post sounds like abuse to me.

Right, but unless you're going to start checking strings for similarities in flagging reasons, you're not going to be able to reject "double-jeopardy" flagging like that.

Also, I'm having a hard time seeing it as abuse if multiple people think it has the same problem.

@Gollgagh
Points taken. However, flagging an approved post with a bad_anatomy tag and not checking the the "Flags & Appeals" history beforehand seems a bit lazy or shortsighted, in my opinion.

post #2238696 is one of those posts. I'll admit, I flagged it just minutes after it was uploaded but it was approved not long after. Then like a few hours later, it was tagged with bad anatomy.

We have only 2 posts right now which are flagged because of bad anotomy. Both are flagged from the same user (as pointed out in post #2412580).
Don't know if I'll make myself disliked for it, but these posts do look pretty, if it weren't fot that anatomy. And a neck like this just doesn't work.
Or the upper body floating some meters away from the lower part (as S1eth pointed out but they didn't flag the post).
And a flag isn't a death flag. It's only that contributors don't are free to upload whatever they like and some posts need a check if someone and it doesn't matter who, points out an error done by the artist.
And as long as the reason makes sense and isn't something like "NSFW", "loli" or "porn" then this is also ok.

Maybe whoever is flagging it already saw the flag history and thought that previous flag reason was good enough to deserve a second opinion. If enough people agree that an image's quality isn't good enough for this site, it should take more than one mod's approval to settle the argument.

Perhaps it's worth looking into options like showing the flag history on the flagging dialog, or encouraging approvers to give slightly more leeway to flagged posts if they see that they have been previously flagged for the same reason, and approved afterwards
