What to do when the image came from Twitter and the source link is now dead.

While fixing a certain mess of bad twitter sources, I came across post #2235662. As the comment says, I managed to track down the relevant tweet, but the user deleted it. Since the direct link still works, I don't want to change the source field.

What should I do?

In this case, I think the source link should be left alone.

Also, here's the image on Pixiv. Since Twitter always mess up the image's quality, it's better to just reupload this image.

Personally, I'd rather put the tweet url there if you have it, even if it's deleted. The twimg link isn't really worth anything since the image is hosted by danbooru, and it'll remain in the tag history anyway. Whereas the tweet url gives you information such as what account it was posted by, and prevents people from searching in vain for the tweet in the future, since it's obvious that it's deleted.

That's true. I'd left a note in the comments for that very reason, but it makes more sense to put it in the source. I'd forgotten the source counts as a tag for history purposes, so it's not like information is lost.

Since the artist's tweet on their old twitter account is deleted, you can try to link the image to their new one instead: https://twitter.com/chuya_gyaku10/status/684445855768657920. They're pratically the same image.

Not just practically, they're exactly the same; the MD5's match.
