Comment Downvote Abuse?

Posted under General

It seems my comments tend to get downvoted, even if they are good ones that others upvote. Is there a way to know who downvoted my comments so I can ask them for their point of view? At least, can you tell me what is wrong with the comments when I make them? Sorry if this is a bad thing to ask for...

No one except voters themselves and Albert know who voted for which comment.

Also, I just went through all your comments. Almost all downvoted comments are jokes of some kind. Comments are initially for putting useful info and semi-serious discussion, so you make jokes at your own risk - if someone finds them unfunny or rude, they have every right to downvote.

About half of your downvoted comments are at score of -1. Perhaps you got onto someone's nerves with that googletrans pixiv tagging idea and they overreact and downvote on reflex.

Some of those are below -4, though - that's rather rare for danbooru community to react like that, meaning you went overboard in one way or another. You'll probably have to reflect on these.

Not sure if asking for their point of view will yield anything objective. Voting is a subjective choice for a person. Some do it because they find or found the behaviour/comment unfunny, rude, disruptive, out of place or simply clashing with the howto:comment rules.

If your posts got downvoted, there is a high chance one of the above was the trigger for it. As Type-kun mentioned, reflecting on these would be a good thing to consider. I am not aware of the "machine translation pixiv tagging" case until checking through your comments and noticing others mentioning it. That might be an example of disruptive behaviour which the community might disapprove and lead to possible downvoting.

Went through a few pages as well. Among those pages, I noticed: post #2220280 , post #2205253 and post #2199426 (contain downvotes). My own humble opinion: I would not take the same stance as you displayed in those posts. There is a high risk coming over as impolite or disrespectful.

You provide fake translations of Pixiv tags. You were also highly disrespectful to Moonspeaker.
And, judging by the comments of other users, you also vandalized tags on Pixiv.

'Roleplaying' is no excuse.

Ok, so the tag is "meaningless".
Whatever.
WHATEVER.
WHATEVER!
At least I tried!
Why don't YOU tag it next time if my tags are so meaningless~?!

At least, can you tell me what is wrong with the comments when I make them?

I guess you know what is wrong with them.
