Suggestion for Parent/Child

Posted under Bugs & Features

so apparently when a new picture is added to a child or parent, it doesn't end up in the latest results which is frustrating because i have to go back to its original date to see the new picture.

can the parent/child be bumped to the latest result?

So, from what I understand, you mean: you cannot tell in which order the child images are suppose to be viewed? (I also have no idea what "latest results" means)

In that case, if the order of the posts is important, it should be a pool insted of parent+children.

latest results is the latest results you see when you search for something..

Nagara_(kantai_collection)
parent:any

this is the "latest" at the moment for those tags.

now i'd like to elaborate on what should be improved here.
if you search for "Naganami_(kantai_collection) parent:any", this is what you'll see atm.

so let's click the child image of shimakaze and naganami in halloween costumes

now let's click the parent image of it

so the child image was uploaded 2 months ago but the parent image was uploaded 1 month ago, why can't both the parent or child be "bumped" or why can't there be a tag for both child/parent so whenever their pool expands, it'd get "bumped" to the latest results?

it's quite difficult to search for both child/parent tags individually and then go through all of it to see if new pictures were added, in fact, thats not a solution.

there should be a tag which unifies both child/parent and the results will appear in one thumbnail, whenever a new child or parent gets added to it, it'll get bumped to the latest results.

Updated

danbooru is not 4chan. Posts aren't bumped, they're sorted by the date and time they were uploaded. We're not going to reassign ids for every post in the database every time a parent/child is uploaded, this entire suggestion is ridiculous.
