Oppinions on screencap submissions.

Posted under General

I have no particular issue with approving them, but I do try and judge them as other images. Things I consider when looking at them is how blurry or sharp the image is, how well it is stitched together, how noticeable are the compression artifacts, and lastly whether I feel the screencap is just random versus something worth screencapping.

Examples of things I'd likely approve:
    • Tilt shots, as they stitch together nicely. This image is sharp and doesn't appear to have compression artifacts. It does unfortunately have some signs of being stitched, particularly noticeable on the twintail on the bottom right, but overall seems like things that wouldn't be noticed at a glance (makes them somewhat similar to an error in a drawn image).

    • Pan shots, as they stitch together nicely. This one is decently sharp and no obvious signs of stitching. While it has some compression artifacts, they don't stand out too much.
Examples of things I wouldn't approve:
    • Pan and tilt shots, as they leave a lot of gaps in the image. This one is even worse looking given the extra jagged sides.
    • What seems like a random arbitrary screencap. Also this image makes things worse by adding artifacts by having been saved as a gif.
