question

I want to see my pictures posted... how can I do that????

oh and how can I become a priviledged member???

A moderator has to approve your pictures, and a privileged member can invite you to be privileged. So you have to nice to them and contribute a lot to the site, whether it's pictures or posts.

Your pictures will appear once they are approved by a moderator. If the image has some bad qualities to it (which some of your uploads did), then they will be deleted.

Here's what you shouldn't upload:
- images that are only a few hundred pixels in width and length and yet feature something detailed (in other words, images that have been scaled down a lot)
- badly compressed images that feature excessive JPG artifacting
- *.bmp files. Very few images are in that format originally, most of the *.bmp's floating around in imageboards are just badly saved JPG's due to buggy IE behaviour

The forum should be renamed into "how to become privileged", since 90% of the threads are concerning that question.

Yeah. I've written the same basic info 3 or 4 times by now. An organized sticky thread of sorts would be nice, even though the Help section answers most of the particularities, including the whole invite business, quite well.

I guess some people just enjoy being spoonfed information, rather than looking for it themselves.

Haha, but the odds of them reading a sticky are about as good as them reading the help section.

Indeed. Can threads be locked/closed? If not, they should be. If it were me, I'd reply "FAQ", and close the thread. Perhaps I'd post a link given a generous mood. People who want to be spoon fed are annoying, but don't encourage laziness by doing the spoon feeding.

I think we'd all be well served with such a policy. Just my $0.02.

Yes, you are able to upload unsafe pics but you won't be able to see them yourself as long as you are not privileged.

Good pictures. Take a look around, see what's popular and what's not and make your own conclusions. If you're still unable to spot the difference in quality between what you uploaded and what gets more than 10 + votes here, then it would be best to hold off on uploading anything at all.
