• Aliasing game-specific characters to their sub-series of origin. Contrast to recurring, yet alternate characters, such as ifrit_(final_fantasy), shiva_(final_fantasy), and bahamut_(final_fantasy).
• "cindy_(ff15)" is EN->JP.
• "kurasame_susaya is assuming this is correct and the full name is not a spoiler.
• "paine_(ff10)" is a character which debuted in Final Fantasy X-2.
• nono_final_fantasy is not suggested as it seems to be a single character, but among non-numbered titles (the Ivalice Alliance).
• I still argue to "reverse alias lightning_(ff13) -> lightning_farron", as the character's common name is mononymous.

Why are these not aliases?

Then to match, we would also need to alias *_(final_fantasy) variants to every current *_(ff*) tag (from memory, elena_(ff7)). Further, there have been infrequent same-named characters which could lead to an alias removal (there is a "Garland" in FF1 and FF9), and the rare mononymous "Cid" characters (FF1 and FF2, by memory, though the former is often "Cid of the Lufaine").

In short, these are tags that likely should have started as these specifying ones.

elena_(ff7) is different from these tags. It started out as elena_(ff7) and was never named elena_(final_fantasy), so an elena_(final_fantasy)->elena_(ff7) alias for it wouldn't do much.

But these tags are currently *_(final_fantasy), so aliases would be helpful because of subscriptions/saved searches/people just being used to the old tag.
