As far as I can tell, there is no tag for goroawase Japanese wordplay.

Could this be added? I don't have too many examples offhand, just

Well, all the Kancolle IJN subgirls would qualify each time someone says their nicknames. Iku (I-19), Goya (I-58), Imuya (I-168), and Shioi (I-401). Hachi (I-8) is debatable.

If the tag is created, just having subs' names written should be excluded on the grounds that it would utterly dominate the tag and make it useless for finding actual wordplay (without subtracting the KanColle tag.)

I just added the number_pun tag to all of the images I linked in the OP. I chose that over any form of goroawase because I was told that goroawase is not limited to numbers, and works with any similar sounding words, not strictly numbers.

I know nothing about kantai or the subgirls, so I'm not going to tag them personally. Just from the above, though, it sounds like they deserve the tag.

Depends on the situation.

post #1722356 for example fully deserves the tag, since Mutsu is not a sub and is not officially called "62," and I've added it.

Whereas post #1538547, in which I-19 says her official nickname "Iku" and a pun is then made out of that, should not be tagged in my opinion. "Iku" is for all practical purposes just her name. And if the number pun tag is used anytime a KanColle submarine has her official goroawase nickname mentioned, I hold that it will flood the tag with such pictures and make it pointlessly difficult to find puns that aren't just those sub nicknames.

What about date puns, like in post #1839790? it's technically goroawase as well, and there are plenty of such images, 11/08 being one of many examples.

There's actually a date_pun tag that was set to implicate number_pun a while back, but neither was ever used for some reason. I just added it to that image.

date_pun probably needs some special guidelines, though. A lot of touhou characters have specific "days" (a list). Some are explicitly dated in the image, e.g. pixiv #46351041. Others just have the tag on pixiv, e.g. pixiv #46337611. Or it's just in the title/description. Others like post #718378 and post #1839790 have some text on the image related to the pun, beyond just dating the image.

I'm inclined to say that it should need some additional text on the image/commentary relevant to the pun in order to get any kind of "pun" tag.
