Seto no Hanayome character names

Posted under General

It seems that Wikipedia has finally accepted that the official rominization for 燦 and 留奈's names are Sun and Lunar. Don't you guys think Danbooru should follow suite and change the seto_san and edomae_runa tags to seto_sun and edomae_lunar?

Wikipedia is hardly an authoritative source. In the absence of official romanizations, the preferred source would be ANN, which uses "San" and "Luna". Isn't there an official source for their names?

I know Wikipedia isn't a reliable source. I was pointing out that even they have adopted the official spelling now (they stuck with "San" and the completely unsourced "Luna" for quite a long time). Though you must realize that character names are a mess on ANN as well.

Anyway, I'm not going to fight over the spelling here, since the only official source I have myself is this screenshot: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n220/Ai_no_Kareshi/SetoSnap.jpg though someone on the Wikipedia talk page claims that the romanizations "Sun" and "Lunar" are used in this official fanbook: http://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/4757520409/

No. I refuse to accept San's name as "Sun". Yes, they had a sun/moon thing going for them, but no. Just no. Runa or Luna is fine with me, but Lunar is going too far, too.

And you're basing this on... what, your personal taste? All official sources (including the show itself) use "Sun" and "Lunar" as the roman spellings. If Danbooru decides to stick with the phonetic "San" and "Runa", sure, I'll accept that, but notice that "Luna" is just a spelling some fan concocted.

Oh, look at me. I promised not to fight over it.

Pretty much. I'm used to the phonetic spelling, and "Sun" is an odd name. Plus old resentment about other "official romanizations". L/R confusion, messing up/misspelling intended references, etc... Most likely a losing battle.

Luna == Runa; I never had a clear opinion either way.

So, are we going to change it over, ten?

I would gladly help out, but I'm afraid I don't know much about renaming tags. I would assume that such a mass edit function is restricted to mod use...? Also, if we're going to take this route, we'll probably need an alias.
